MEDIA RELEASE__The Village of Ada is pleased to announce the appointment of Lydia Fountaine as Fiscal Officer. Fountaine officially assumed the role on May 26, 2026, bringing with her extensive government finance experience, a strong educational background and a commitment to transparency and responsible stewardship of public funds.

"When I learned about this opportunity, I felt a pull to come back to this community," Fountaine said. "Although I wasn't born here, my family lived in the Ada area for 15 years, and I spent nearly half that time serving the community at Ada Community Markets. I built relationships with so many residents, and it was difficult to leave. The opportunity to serve those same people again, and many new faces, in this role was incredibly meaningful."

As Fiscal Officer, Fountaine is responsible for overseeing the Village's financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, payroll, investments, and safeguarding public resources. The position plays a critical role in ensuring accountability, financial stability, and compliance while protecting taxpayer dollars.

Prior to joining the Village of Ada, Fountaine served for five years at the Allen County Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center. During that time, she gained valuable experience working with the Auditor of State's Office, Local Government Services, grant administration, and board governance.

Fountaine holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Accounting and plans to continue pursuing professional certifications and educational opportunities to further strengthen her expertise in municipal finance.

Outside of work, Fountaine enjoys reading, solving puzzles, and spending time with family and friends playing both computer and board games. She and her husband share a collection of more than 600 board games and hope to one day open a board game café. For now, much of her free time is happily spent chasing after their energetic nine-month-old son.
