ADA __The Ada High School volleyball team defeated visiting Hardin County rival Kenton in a three-set non-league match on Tuesday, August 25.

Ada improved to 2-0 with the 25-20, 25-21, 25-23 victory. The Wildcats dropped to 1-4 with the loss.

“Our middles, Dailah and Brook, did a great job taking care of the ball and making smart plays offensively,” said new Ada head coach Kylie Murphy. “All of our hitters did a great job at the net creating a strong block.

“Defensively, we continued to battle and picked up some scrappy balls to keep plays alive,” she noted. “We are continuing to learn, grow and find our rhythm as a team. I am excited to see this group keep getting better, building confidence and putting it altogether.”

Sophomore Tea Griffith dished out 37 assists and made nine digs to pace the victors. She also hit two kills and had two block assists, and served one ace.

Senior Brooklynn Andreasen hammered 14 kills, served three aces, made four digs and added two block assists.

Senior Dailah Preston slammed 13 kills, made two solo blocks and added a block assist.

Senior Alivia Gibson knocked down four kills, served a pair of aces and hustled up six digs.
