Glenda J. Shobe was a dietician manager

Glenda J. Shobe, age 83, of Ada, passed away on Monday, August 24 at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on December 31, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, to Glenn and Irene (Hall) Ball. Her father, Glenn Ball and her mother and stepfather, Irene and James Mullins, all preceded her in death. Glenda was previously married to Richard Tracy Newton and he preceded her in death. In 1984, Glenda married Chester “Chet” Shobe and he survives in Ada.

Also surviving are her six children: Tina Newton of Ada, Richard (Katrina) Newton of Erie, PA, Kathy (Scott) Brogan of Foley, AL, Ed (Cheri) Newton of Dunkirk, Gary (Jo) Shobe of Ada and Sara (Frank) Cardone of Lima; seventeen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two brothers: Dean (Shari) Conley and Jim (Vicki) Mullins both of Alger; and two sisters: Donna (Sam) Rowe and Helen (Rick) Miller both of Dunkirk.

Also, preceding Glenda in death are her two infant daughters: Mona Kay and Theresa.

Glenda retired from CRSI, where she worked as the Dietitian Manager. She attended the Ada Full Gospel Church. She was a member and secretary/treasurer for 25 years at Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God in Alger. Her passion was Jesus and sharing the gospel. Glenda also previously worked as a realtor.

Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 28, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada, with Rev. Karen Rarey officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Friday, August 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
