Hilda E. Mumma worked at Triplett Electrical Instrument Company
Hilda E. Mumma, age 104, of Ada, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Vancrest of Ada.
She was born on September 28, 1921, in Watkins, IA, to John and Selina (Brand) Schaad. On March 8, 1941, Hilda married Joe F. Mumma, and he preceded her in death on July 27, 1988.
Hilda is survived by her son, Ray Mumma of Ada; five grandchildren: Amy Reedy, Matthew (Kelly) Mumma, Karen (Scott) Vorase, Brett Condon, and Brad (Laurie) Condon; fourteen great-grandchildren: Andrew Hughes, Aidan Shook, Emily Reedy, Emerson Mumma, Nathan (Madison) Vermillion, Ashley Vermillion, Sarah Vermillion, Cassandra Bloomfield, Brooke (Kirk) Boroff, Lexi Condon, Scott (Gangotri) Vorase, Skylar (Vince) Idoni, Alexis Vorase, Autumn Vorase; four Great Great Grandchildren: Tyler Bloomfield, Benjamin Ray Vermillion, Amelia Vermillion, Rang Vorase: numerous nieces and nephews, great and great great; and dear friends: Colleen and Bryan Marshall.
Also preceding her in death are her daughter and son-in-law: JoAnn (Jim) Condon; daughter-in-law, Penny Mumma; granddaughter-in-law: Allison Condon; great-grandson: Lane Condon; seven siblings: Florence Schaad, Elmer Schaad, Rosalie (Schaad) Mericle, Ralph Schaad, Ethel (Schaad) Sobosly, Martin Schaad, Helen (Schaad) Barnes.
Hilda was a 1939 graduate of Columbus Grove High School. She was a member of the Lafayette Chapter 121 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Ada First United Methodist Church. She worked 23 years at Triplett Electrical Instrument Company, Bluffton, Ohio. She loved working outside in her yard and garden and fishing for bluegill and crappie on Morrison Lake, Coldwater, Michigan. She was very proud of her Swiss heritage and often spoke of her trips to Switzerland to visit with aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 29th, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada, with Rev. Andrew Burns officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ada First United Methodist Church, 301 North Main Street, Ada, OH 45810.
