ADA__The Ada High School volleyball team swept visiting Arcadia in the Blanchard Valley Conference opener on Monday, September 14.

Ada improved to 10-1 overall and 1-0 in the BVC with the home 25-15, 25-21, 25-22 win.

Arcadia fell to 5-5 overall and 0-1 in the BVC after the road defeat.

“It was a good start to conference play,” said Ada first-year head coach Kylie Murphy. “Our defense really showed up and kept us in some long rallies. We were scrappy and made big plays when we needed them.

“Brooklyn Andreasen had an amazing game and was a huge part of our success at the net,” she noted. “Overall, I am really proud of how we played.”

Senior Andreasen slammed 13 kills, made five digs, served two aces and came up with one assisted block.

Sophomore Tea Griffith dished out 16 assists, dealt a pair of aces, hit one kill and had one dig.

Senior Jaylin St. Laurent passed out eight assists, came up with five digs and hit one kill.

Senior Dailah Preston hammered seven kills, came up with four solo blocks and added a dig.

Senior Alivia Gibson mustered 12 digs, smacked four kills and served two aces. 

Freshman Jaycee Allen contributed two kills, two digs and one assist. Sophomore Lucy Carter hustled up 14 digs and dished out one assist.

Senior Harlyn Lowry came up with six digs. Sophomore Haylyn Geiger drilled three kills, served three aces, made five digs and served three aces. She also dished out two assists and had one block assist.

Elyse Boes led the Redskins with 10 kills. Kate Seem and Ryleigh Bostic each hit five kills. Bostic passed out 10 assists. Ivy Smith dished out 18 assists and served five aces. Lexi Theis came up with 18 digs.

The Bulldog reserves also rallied to win 18-25, 25-21, 25-21. 

Ada puts its four-match win streak on the line at league foe Riverdale (2-6, 0-1 BVC) on Wednesday. Leipsic (8-1, 1-0 BVC) swept the Falcons Monday.
