MEDiA RELEASE__The new Freed Center for the Performing Arts season opens with two performances of The Pulse, a high-energy tap dance, body percussion and sand dance experience featuring SOLE Defined. This percussive dance company has toured nationally and internationally, with performances and engagements at The Kennedy Center, Jacob’s Pillow, The Smithsonian, and throughout Italy, Uganda, Mexico, and beyond.

Rooted in African Diasporic dance traditions, the show transforms audiences from passive spectators into active participants in a collective celebration of rhythm, movement, and community. The show will also include members of The ONU Dance Company as they conclude a residency with SOLE Defined. Performances are slated for Saturday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. Audiences are invited to participate in a conversation with the show's artists immediately following the Sunday matinee.
