Bulldog volleyball nipped by Elmwood

BLOOMDALE __The visiting Ada High School volleyball team lost a close five-setter to Blanchard Valley Conference foe Elmwood on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
The Bulldogs won the first and fourth sets and extended the fifth game to overtime before falling in a tight battle.
Ada dropped to 14-4 and 3-3 in BVC play after the 24-26, 25-15, 25-21, 22-25, 19-17 defeat.
The Royals improved to 7-10 overall and 3-3 in the BVC with the win.
Bulldog Dailah Preston hammered a team-high 20 kills, put up four solo blocks and added three digs.
Jaylin St. Laurent passed out 17 assists, served four aces and made 10 digs.
Téa Griffith doled out 30 assists, smashed 15 kills, came up with one assisted block with one solo block, and served one ace. She also mustered up 18 digs.
Brooklyn Andreasen drilled 13 kills and came up with three solo blocks to go with one assisted block. She dealt a pair of aces and hustled up seven digs.
Alivia Gibson mustered 16 digs, slammed two kills, served an ace and made one solo block.
Lucy Carter hustled her way to 26 digs and passed out two assists. She also served up one ace.
Haylyn Geiger hit one kill and added three digs. Jaycee Allen knocked down two kills and made four digs.
Harlyn Lowry and Taylor Price mustered up six digs apiece.
UP NEXT
Ada tries to snap a three-match league losing skid when they host BVC leader Leipsic (14-2, 6-0 BVC) on Monday, Oct. 5. The powerhouse Vikings swept previously unbeaten Arlington 25-19, 25-16, 25-21 in a first-place conference showdown Wednesday night.
