Ann Marie McDowell, 65, died on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020, at her residence in McGuffey, Ohio.

She was born on Feb. 21, 1955, in Greenville, South Carolina, to Eugene and Evelyn (Ready) Kalutz. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in Camden, South Carolina. On July 4, 1973, Ann married Paul McDowell and he survives in McGuffey, Ohio.

 Beverly J. Cole, 66, died on Friday, Aug.14, 2020 at her residence in Lima.       

She was born on Sept. 29, 1953, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Gaylord A. and France B. (Nichols) Cole.

Beverly was a naturalist, and volunteer at Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park, Lima. She earned four Bachelor’s Degrees, two from Ohio State University and two from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s Degree from APUS. 

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and John Heston of Sandusky; and a nephew, Christopher Heston of Melbourne, Fla.

Beverly was preceded in death by her two sisters: Dianna Cole and Grace Cole.

Hager Mosley, 80, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, at 8:30 a.m. at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

He was born on March 18, 1940, in Knott County, Kentucky, to the late Robert and Gladys (Smith) Mosley.  Hager is survived by his son, Robert Mosley of Ada; a daughter, Lisa (Don) Berry of McGuffey; three grandchildren: Kylie Montgomery, Megan (Doug) Slusher and Justin Roberts; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Carty of Lakeview.

Hager was preceded in death by two brothers: Simon “Bud” Mosley and Jack Mosley; and four sisters: Irene Pinks, Wanda Holbrook, Carol Newland and Pauline Mosley.

Retired Bluffton University art professor Jaye Bumbaugh of Lima, died Friday, July 25, 2020, at The Kobacker House in Columbus. 

Jaye was born July 30, 1937, to Glenn and Grace (Thorpe) Bumbaugh in Lorain, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1959. 

Jaye taught junior high and senior high school classes at Midview Schools,  Grafton, and then in the Bluffton schools.

After completing his Master of Fine Arts at Bowling Green State University in 1967, he joined the faculty of Bluffton University teaching art courses and served as department chair for many of the 37 years he was there.

 Phillip D. “Phil” Dawson, 80, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at 12:22 a.m. at his residence in West Newton.

He was born on Oct. 21, 1939, in Harrod to the late Donald C. and Lucille R. (Smith) Dawson, Sr.  On June 15, 1974, he married Sharon L. Focht and she survives in West Newton.

Phil worked at Ford Motor Company, Lima Engine Plant.  He was a member of the Alger Assembly of God Church. Phil was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1957-1959.

Carolyn Sue Coe, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 1:18 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima, surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 2, 1944, in Lima to James and Anna (Shrider) Ramsdell. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in Lima.

Carolyn was a secretary for Lima Memorial Health System. Carolyn was a lifelong traveler, artist, friend, daughter, mother and grandmother. She loved the California desert and lived in Palm Springs for many years before returning to the Lima area when her health declined several years ago.

While in California, Carolyn was President Reagan’s EKG tech in the 1980s.
