Evans wins 3 by pin in Bulldog mat opener at C-R duals

ADA - The Ada wrestling team began its season by competing in the annual six-team Cory-Rawson Invitational dual meet Saturday.

The rebuilding Bulldog team went 0-5 on the day. Ada junior Reece Evans won three matches, all by pin, in the 160 lbs. division.

Freshman Jeremy Cameron (113) won two matches and another by forfeit in his varsity debut.

Junior Noah Arnett recorded two pin wins and added a third victory via forfeit in the heavyweight bracket.

Senior Tyler Onions added two wins at 170, one by decision and another by forfeit.

Elementary creativity

On display at Vancrest

Albert Einstein put art this way: "Art is standing with one hand extended into the universe and one hand extended into the world, and letting ourselves be a conduit for passing energy."

Ada elementary students are passing their energy to the Vancrest residents this month. Several pieces of their art work is now on display at Vancrest.

Nearly 40 years in the making

ONU's Kappa Phi pre-Christmas sing-a-long

Kappa Phi has held a sing-a-thon prior to Christmas for nearly 40 years, and this year the money raised will go to the American Society for Suicide Prevention.

Greek organizations, chapel groups, solos, and duets began singing on Friday evening  in McIntosh Center. The sing-a-thon continued until 3 p.m. on Saturday, except for time out for breakfast. In all, 25 groups participated. 

Emily Fergus of Bellefontaine served as event chair this year. Kappa Phi is a Christian women’s sorority.

Women finish 6th of 11 teams

WOOSTER — Junior Lauren Halle touched third of 23 swimmers in the 100 fly to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team on the third and final day of the Wooster Invitational on Saturday. The Polar Bears finished sixth out of 11 teams. Case Western Reserve won the team title.

ONU places third of 10 teams

WOOSTER — Freshman Jeremy Adams won the 200 breast to lead the Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team on the third and final day of the Wooster Invitational on Saturday at the Wooster High School Natatorium and the College of Wooster Natatorium. The Polar Bears finished third out of 10 teams. Case Western Reserve won the team title.
