June 28 APL hosts Mark Wood Fun Show

What are you doing at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28?

The Ada Public Library invites you to Mark Wood's interactive show for children of all ages at the bandshell in War Memorial Park.

Refreshing option: Aqua Zumba on Wednesday evenings

It's too hot to exercize? Aqua Zumba to the rescue!

Aqua Zumba classes are held at the Ada Municipal Pool from 6:00-6:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and at the Bluffton Community Pool, 205 Snider Rd, from 6:00-6:45 on Tuesdays.

From the Ada Pool: "no need to sign up; just come when you can and drag your friends and co-workers along too! $7 for a drop in class. Or you can buy a ten class punch card for $50."

Book Review: Aurora, when the lights went out

When a monster solar coronal mass ejection (CME) strikes the Earth it destroys all of the power grids in the world, leaving our Earth in the literal dark as the electricity disappears worldwide. This is what  occurs in David Koepp's second book titled Aurora (ISBN 978-0-06-291647-1). Koepp is the screenwriter of many popular movies, including the first two Jurassic Park releases, Mission: Impossible, and War of the Worlds,  plus many more, some of which he also directed.

Ada swimmers outpace Westside in WOAL meet

Hosting at the Ada Municipal Pool, the Ada-Lost Creek Gators defeated Westside in a West Ohio Aquatic League dual meet on a warm Thursday night, June 23.

Ada captured the combined boys-girls competition by a count of 371-155. 

The Gator boys won 237-130 to pave the way for the overall team victory. The visitors won the girls meet, 225-134.

The Ada boys improved their dual record to 3-1 with the win. The Gator girls dropped to 0-4, while the overall Ada team record is now 1-3.

Gator Luke Harriger (11-12) won four individual races to help lead the Ada boys team to victory.

Free community meal June 29 at St. Mark Lutheran

St. Mark Lutheran Church will host a free Community meal from 5:00-6:30 p.m.((or when the food runs out) on Wednesday, June 29.

This month's menu is shredded chicken sandwich, potato salad, fruit and cookie. 

You may dine in, carry out, or pull up for curb side pick-up. 

Orgainzers note: "Last month we served 118 meals and ran out of food, so come early. The event is free and open to the public. Hope to see you there!
