Ada netters nipped by unbeaten Titans

ADA - The host Ada tennis team played well but was edged 3-2 by undefeated Ottawa-Glandorf Monday night at the park courts.

The Bulldog netters dropped to 2-3 after the close defeat despite wins at the top two singles spots. O-G improved to 6-0 with the victory.

"Overall I thought it was a good experience for the team, and I appreciate their good attitude," said Ada head coach Dexter Woods. He reported that several team members even resumed practicing after the match was finished. 

Ada senior Miranda Wills upped her season record to 3-2 with a comeback three-set victory at first singles over senior Carter Welch.

Softball and baseball: Ada stymies Bluffton twice

Both games conclude with 5-1 Bulldog wins

BLUFFTON - Visiting Ada defeated Bluffton 5-1 in a Northwest Conference softball contest Monday evening.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the NWC with the victory. Bluffton fell to 2-7 and 1-1 in league play after the defeat.

Ada senior Leona Dalton struck out 13 Lady Pirates to earn her fifth pitching victory this season.    

Dalton gave up just five hits and one run to earn her third straight win. 

The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Ada plated four runs to seize command of the contest. 

Bluffton business transfers to 3rd generation Ada family ownership

Kibee's Carryout now owned by Mason Klingler and Chloe Blackburn

FROM BLUFFTON ICON  - Bluffton's most popular business not in Bluffton, Kibbee’s Carryout, 140 County Road 313, today became a third-generation business.

Mason Klingler and Chloe Blackburn, took over ownership from Mason’s parents, Anita and Ron Klingler of Ada.

Anita said that her mother Barbara Hopson, owned Kibbee’s for seven years, and she and Ron have owned it for the past 27 years.

Mason is a 2017 Ada High School grad, and Chloe a 2018 Cory-Rawson grad, and currently is a student at the University of Toledo majoring in marketing.

The business offers 159 craft beer brands, which is among the largest selections in northwestern Ohio.

Ohio Northern University freshwater ecology students and faculty recently began collaborating with the Sandusky County Park District on the restoration of a particular wetland where several invasive species are encroaching. This spring semester, ONU Environmental and Field Biology (ENFB) students, under the supervision of biology professors Katherine Krynak, Ph.D., Leslie Riley, Ph.D., Ken Oswald, Ph.D., and Bob Verb, Ph.D., have begun preliminary work to determine what’s there so that a comprehensive restorative course of action can be developed. Village income tax filing deadline moved to May 17

Conforms with state and federal 2020 tax filing deadlines

Village of Ada moved its 2020 filing deadline and first quarter estimate filing deadline from April 15 to May 17.

This conforms with the move made by the State of Ohio and federal tax filing deadlines for 2020 taxes.

Ada's tax administrator is Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA), located in Broadview Heights, Ohio. For additional Ada tax information, visit the RITA website.
