Alger Public Library memorials, honorariums, donations in 2023

The Alger Public Library has received a variety of memorials, honorariums, and donations in 2023. "The library would like to thank all those who have generously donated to the library. We join in honoring your loved ones." Any of the titles below can be put on hold by calling 419-757-7755. You may also call to obtain information on placing memorials, honorariums, or book endowments.

New Year's holiday crash fatalities report

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting six fatal crashes resulting in seven fatalities on Ohio’s roadways during the 2023-2024 New Year’s holiday according to provisional statistics. Of the seven fatalities, five of those killed were not wearing an available safety belt.

Cheer clinic for K-6th grade includes January 20 performance

Ada Elementary students in kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to a basketball cheerleading clinic. Participants will cheer during halftime of the JV or varsity game on Saturday, January 20 vs. Hardin Northern.

GRADE LEVELS, DATES
This year for the Ada Basketball Cheer Clinic we will be breaking up the grades to allow more individualized learning and better structure for you to see your kiddo perform.

Kindergarten, second grade, and third grade will have clinic days on January 17 from 6:00-7:00 p.m., and January 18 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. They will then perform during the halftime of the Ada High School JV game on January 20.

Bulldog boys basketball runs away from Redskins in the 4th

ADA__The host Ada High School boys basketball team outscored Arcadia 20-5 in the fourth quarter to pull away and post an impressive 60-40 non-league win Tuesday night, January 2.

A season-best four players scored in double figures for the balanced Bulldogs. 

January 20 regular meeting scheduled by Ada Board of Education

The Ada Exempted Village Schools board will hold its regular January meeting at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 20.

Meetings are held in the board room at 725 West North Avenue, Ada, Ohio.

The board for 2024 is comprised of Troy Erickson, Ronald Fleming, Matt Gossman, Ted Griffith, and Justin Hollon.

Class for new private pesticide applicators

Registration deadline is January 9

HARDIN COUNTY__A class to help farmers prepare to become private pesticide applicators has been planned for January 16 at the Hardin County Extension office, 1021 West Lima Street, Kenton. In Ohio, pesticide applicators are required by law to have an Ohio Pesticide Applicators License to purchase and apply restricted-use chemicals. These pesticides include but are not limited to herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides.
