Look at all these January Ada school events

Despite weather delays, there's no absence of events at Ada schools in January. Here's a summary of current activities taken from the school website:

Today: Science Fair 6:30 – 8:00 pm in cafeteria
Jan. 15 End of 9 Weeks
Jan. 18 No School in observance of Martin Luther King Day
Jan. 22 Grade cards will be sent home with students
Jan. 25 FCA at 6:50 pm
Jan. 26 2 Hour Early Dismissal at 1:30 due to Professional Staff Meeting

PRESALE TICKETS: are on sale in the high school office for Friday night’s boys’ basketball vs Delphos Jefferson. Adult tickets are $5, student tickets $4. All tickets will be $6 at the door.

ADA SOCCER ASSOCIATION SIGN-UPS: In person signups for the month of January for the spring soccer season. If you are a new player, you must provide a certified copy of your child's birth certificate.

All players, U8 and older, should be using the new jerseys. You may order one at the time of registration. You may download the (2) forms from the website and bring to registration. Please visit the website addasoccer.org, follow us on Facebook, and download the Remind app. Text @adasoc to 81010 for the most up to date information. Fees: U6-$35 (includes a t-shirt Jersey); U8-$40, U10-$45, U12 $50, U15-$55. Jerseys-$20 (U8-U15).

Dates: Today at 6p-8p Monday, January 18, 2016 6p-8p, Thursday, January 21, 2016 6p-8p, Saturday, January 23, 2016 10a-12p. We are not accepting online registrations for this session. Please plan to attend one of the sign ups listed above or contact a board member prior to the last sign up. Late registrations will not be accepted.

Sign-ups will be held at the Presbyterian Church 201 S Main St in the fellowship hall.

FAST PITCH SOFTBALL: Any high school girl playing fast pitch softball this upcoming spring should stop by the High School office by 1/19 to sign a participation sheet or contact Coach Erickson directly.

BOOK CLUB: will be meeting Friday during 5B lunch at 12:45 p.m. to discuss this month's title, Unbroken. Please eat lunch and then come to the library for desserts and discussion. See Mrs. Smith if you have questions.

NOTE FROM THE GUIDANCE OFFICE: For students taking any classes for Rhodes credit 2nd semester: There will be a representative here from Rhodes State on Thursday afternoon. After lunch, you will report directly to the auditorium to complete the final enrollment forms and get information from Rhodes. Please bring a pen or pencil.

For any student who hasn't taken the ACT or Compass test yet, you will then have to stay to take the Compass test also. Also, the new semester starts on Tuesday. Schedule change forms are available in the HSO.

Only 2nd semester classes can be changed at this time of the year. Forms are due by the end of the day on Thursday, Jan. 21.

SADIE HAWKINS DANCE: Students in grades 9-12 are invited to the Sadie Hawkins dance on Friday, Jan. 22, immediately following the home boys basketball game until 11 p.m.

Girls, this means you must ask your date to the dance. Tickets are $5 and will be on sale during lunch beginning Tuesday, Jan. 19. As with homecoming, if you still owe school fees, a minimum will need to be paid before a ticket can be purchased.

All profits from the dance will be sent to ReStore. If you would like to bring a date from another school, forms are available in the office and must be returned by Thursday, Jan. 21.

NOTE FROM ATHLETIC OFFICE: The school will be retiring Zac Dysert’s jersey at the boys' basketball game Saturday, Jan. 30. If you would like to purchase a t-shirt, turn in order form anf money by Friday, Jan. 15.

There are extra forms available in the high school office. Also, those students in grades 9-12 who purchase a t-shirt and wear it to the basketball game will be eligible for open lunch on Monday Feb. 1 pending a signed permission slip from a parent.
