G. Michael Collingsworth 1950-2016

G. Michael Collingsworth, 65, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 6:38 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima. 

He was born June 21, 1950 in Kenton, Ohio to Paris F. “Pat” and Berniece “Bea” (Prater) Collingsworth. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Alger. On Aug. 30, 1968 he married Brenda F. Bryant and she survives in Alger. 

Mike retired from Ford Motor Company where he had worked from 1968 to 2004 as an SPC Coordinator and served as the UAW Local #1219 Chaplain. He was a member of the Alger Assembly of God Church and was a licensed and ordained Assembly of God Minister.  He was a realtor with Charter Realty of Ada. Mike loved to golf and spend time with his family especially his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his two daughters: Angela (Ryan) Allen of Lima  and Jayma (Jason Hupe) Kuhlman of Ada; four grandchildren: Lindsay (Fiancé Zac Boehm) Stull, Jessica (Fiancé Blake Pifer) Stull, Michael (Crystal) Guyton and Austin Guyton; three great grandchildren: Camden Boehm, Bentley Guyton and Kinsley Guyton; two brothers: Paris “Pat” (Beverly) Collingsworth, Jr and Steve Collingsworth both of Alger.               

He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Peggy Collingsworth.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Alger Assembly of God Church, 7050 State Route 235, Alger with Pastor Mark Andreasen and Pastor Dan Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. 

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 17,  at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. 

 In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
