Michael Rettig was a 1966 Ada HS graduate

Michael “Mike” Rettig, age 68, passed away early Friday morning on June 17, 2016, at Lima Memorial Health Systems, Lima.

Mike was born on Aug. 11, 1947 in Kenton, Ohio to Charles and Ruth (Grubaugh) Rettig who preceded him in death.  

Mike was married to Imogene Archer and their son is David. He was then married to Pelma Snyder and their children are Daniel and Sheri. He later married Shirley Phillips and she preceded him in death.

Mike worked as a pin grinder at Ford Motor Company of Lima for 41 years, where he was known as “Bull Pup”. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Ada High School class of 1966. He loved his family and his dog, Stella.

Mike is survived by his two ex-wives Imogene (Pearl) and Pelma. His children: David (Partner Tammy) Rettig of Lima, Daniel (Tammy) Rettig of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Sheri Rettig and husband Jason Bash of Columbus; also his four grandchildren: David II, Abi, Houston and Ivory; and two great grandchildren: David III and Dakota; his sister, Pam (Roy) Evans of Harrod; a niece, Stacy Smith; and nephews: Gordon Lawrence and Jacob Ritchey.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Lawrence.

Join us for a celebration of Mike'’s life on Saturday, June 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Wishing Well in McIntosh Center on the campus of Ohio Northern University, Ada.
