Applications accepted for Fleming nursing scholarship

Offered from Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, Bluffton, is accepting applications for the Barbara Fleming Memorial Nursing Scholarship.

The scholarship is meant to promote the career of nursing.  Therefore the scholarship money may be used toward a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse, a degree as a Registered Nurse, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The scholarship is to be used to pay school related expenses toward any of these degrees.

The scholarship offers a minimum award of $500, and will be paid directly to the vocational school or college where the student is enrolled.

Junior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) posted her second double-double in the last three games to help lift the No. 6-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team over Baldwin Wallace 68-43.

Men's Basketball runs win streak to eight games

Devon Allen ties a season-high with 27 points in 94-76 win at BW

BEREA — Senior Devon Allen (Lima/Senior) tied a season-high with 27 points, leading the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to a 94-76 victory at Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday night at Ursprung Gymnasium.

The Polar Bears (13-7 overall, 11-2 Ohio Athletic Conference) run their winning streak to eight games and remain in a first place tie atop the league standings with No. 15-ranked Marietta.

The Yellow Jackets fall to 9-11, 4-9.

Allen scored 21 of his 27 points in the first half on 7-of-10 shooting from 3-point range as ONU led 53-44 at intermission.

Tommy Tires Sales expands with truck and tractor division

Tommy Tire Sales of Ada launched a truck and tractor sales division this month, according to Tom Dotson, owner.

The division is located in Ada, at the intersection of State Route 235 and 309.

“We will offer hand-selected one-half and three-quarter ton used trucks,” he said. “Our venture into truck sales compliments our tire sales. We are a totally retail-oriented business and are ready to service local customers in each of our vehicle-related ventures.”
