Soup's on next Friday at Liberty

Liberty National Bank, Main Street, Ada, invites Icon viewers to a "soup"er Bowl Party.

It's from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 27, in the bank. Employees will bring in their favorite soupts for you to enjoy.

It's free and open to the public.

There's a new bear in town

There’s a new bear in town. The only way you’ll get one is if your parents or caregivers take you to Bluffton Pediatrics as a patient.

Ada business owner Tom Dotson of Tommy Tire, teamed up with Beth Bish of Bluffton Pediatrics in the project.

Now every little kid who needs to see Nurse Practitioner Bish goes home with a new stuffed animal.

There two sizes, one for infants to toddlers and another for youth 3 and up.

President-elect Trump faces a difficult task in unifying a divided nation, but it is not an impossible task, according to Ohio Northern University faculty member Robert Waters, who teaches courses on the U.S. presidency.
 

Barcaskey's pin leads No. 20 wrestling to victory over John Carroll

Freshman Nate Barcaskey (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) got a first period pin at heavyweight to clinch a 22-12 victory for the No. 20-ranked Ohio Northern wrestling team over John Carroll on Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 9-2 overall and are 2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Blue Streaks fall to 4-4, 0-2. With ONU clinging to a 16-12 lead, Barcaskey got a pin in 2:43 of the first period to keep ONU atop the OAC standings. Barcaskey's pin is his team-leading 13th of the season and gives him a 17-5 record on the year.

Ada girls bury Waynesfield

Bulldogs race to 34-13 halftime lead

Ada junior Maddie Gossard tallied 18 first-half points and the Lady Bulldogs routed visiting Waynesfield-Goshen 54-29 in a  girls basketball non-league mismatch Tuesday night. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 6-7 overall with the surprisingly lopsided victory, while the Lady Tigers fell to 6-7 with the defeat.
