Wells paces Ada harriers at Spencerville

Seth Swaney with a 21:43 times comes in second for Ada

SPENCERVILLE - The Ada cross country team competed at the 43rd annual Spencerville Bearcat Invitational Saturday.

The Bulldog boys came in 13th out of 15 teams as Botkins won the title with 38 points. Ada scored 357 points to finish ahead of Ansonia (372) and Sidney-Lehman Catholic (388).

"Seth, Keegan and Xander all dropped time from last meet," said Ada head coach Josh Klein.

Sophomore Brady Yingst of Perry won the 157-runner boys Red Division race in a time of 16:48.1. Shawnee won the bigger school Black Division team crown.

Ada runs next in the Riverdale Invitational Thursday, Sept. 12 at 5 p.m.  

"Senior Hunter Wells set his personal-record of 19:51 at Riverdale last year," noted Klein.
