Cenzie Rushton named ONU women's assistant basketball coach

She was an all-American during her ONU career

Ohio Northern All-American Cenzie (Yoder) Rushton has been named an assistant women's basketball coach at her alma mater.

Rushton joins head coach Mark Huelsman's staff after serving as head girls basketball coach at Celina High School the past two seasons.

Rushton was a volunteer assistant coach at ONU in 2018 and also has coaching experience as an assistant coach at Findlay in 2017 and Heidelberg in 2016.

"I'm extremely excited to have Cenzie back with our program," Huelsman said. "She values academics, hard work, doing what is right, and she is as loyal as the day is long. Her passion, energy, and positivity are contagious qualities that we are grateful to have back on the campus she loves so much."

The Celina native earned a bachelor's degree from Ohio Northern in language arts education and communications in 2015. She then earned a master's of education degree from Heidelberg in 2016.

Rushton was a four-year letterwinner, three-year starter and team captain for the Polar Bears from 2012-15, earning Second Team All-America honors her senior season.

She is married to Branden Rushton (BSEE '14), who was a standout men's basketball player for ONU from 2011-14.
