ONU students return to Ada Jan. 19

As as a health precaution all students must complete an at-home covid-19 test

The spring term at Ohio Northern University begins on Tueday, Jan. 19. The protocol for students returning to Ada are spelled out on the ONU Facebook.

Those follow:

• Complete the at-home COVID-19 test by depositing saliva into the vial and shipping it via UPS (not your mailbox or post office) Monday, Jan.11.

• UPS trucks pick up packages at UPS Stores, many CVS stores, Advance Auto Parts stores, plus numerous local businesses. Go to ups.com/dropoff to find a location nearest you. Remember, your package is pre-paid to ship, so all you need to do is get it to the UPS drop-off location.

• Watch the video and it will walk you through all the testing steps (https://bit.ly/3bu5WgW)

• Once you test on Monday, limit your interactions with others in order to stay healthy and please don’t come back to campus until you have your negative test result. We will let you know you are negative via email, hopefully no later than Jan. 16. If you are positive, we will call you.

• If you tested positive since Oct. 10, send an email to [email protected] and include a picture or scan of your positive test result. Don’t test on Jan. 11, as you need to wait 90 days before you can take a COVID test again. You can return to campus as long as you have been released from isolation. Please bring back your test kit to the main desk at the library so ONU can use that barcode to get someone else tested.

• If you are arriving from an international country, let Dr. Lynda Nyce know your arrival date so she can arrange for your COVID testing.

• Law students who will be returning to campus for classes starting Jan. 27 will test on Jan. 19.
