McGUFFEY - The Ada girls track and field team finished a strong second at the 12-team Ram Invitational in McGuffey Thursday.

Riverdale won the girls meet with 171 points, followed by Ada in second with 107.5 points. 

The boys meet was won by Allen East with 146 points. The Bulldogs finished sixth of 11 teams with 53 points.

Senior Brenna Hissong (400 meters) and sophomore Antonio Pettit (110 high hurdles) both posted frst-place finishes for Ada.

Ada competes in the Hardin County meet at Kenton Tuesday, May 4. The Bulldogs then host the annual Ada Invitational Saturday, May 8.

Ada girls blanked at VB
VAN BUREN - The visiting Ada softball team lost 10-0 in a run-rule shortened, five-inning game at powerhouse Van Buren Friday evening.

Sophomore southpaw Kayla Wince started her second game of the season and took the loss with a four-inning complete game outing. Her other start came in a brief outing at USV.

The Lady Bulldog record dropped to 9-9 with the defeat. The BVC- leading Black Knight girls improved to 18-2 with the victory.

"We walked about eight or 10 batters," reported Ada head coach Rebecca Dicke.  Ada senior outfielder Tori Green and freshman Daicy Robinson each hit singles to provide the only two Bulldog hits. 

Senior hurler Leona Dalton was unable to pitch for the first time this season with a reported illness.

The Lady Bulldogs entertain county rival Kenton (3-10) Saturday at noon. 

Bulldog boys felled by Arlington

ADA - The host Ada baseball team lost 5-1 to Arlington Friday night under the lights in a chilly non-league contest.

The Bulldogs dropped to 5-9 with the defeat, while the Red Devils improved to 7-6 with the victory. 

Ada senior Jacob Morgan collected two hits and scored a run to pace the Bulldog offense.    

Sophomores Roman Snyder and Spencer Wall added the other Bulldog hits.

Pitcher Kadin Phipps drove home Morgan with the Ada run in the bottom of the third inning. He pitched six innings and struck out five Devils.

Both team mustered four hits and committed two errors.

Arlington plated two runs in the top of the first frame, and added three more scores in the third to build a 5-0 lead.

Devil pitcher Zavier Thornton struck out 15 Bulldogs to account for 71 percent of the 21 outs Arlington recorded.

Ada entertains Hardin County WBL rival Kenton (3-10) Saturday at noon. The scheduled Wildcat game vs. Van Wert Friday night was postponed to May 7.
