Shirley Ruth High owned High Ceramic Shop

Shirley Ruth High, age 87, of Lakeview, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at The Greens of Lima. (Photo)

She was born on June 6, 1935 in Ada, Ohio to the late Eugene and Mozelle (Bullock) Thompson.  On June 14, 1951 Shirley married Nick High, Jr. and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2012.

Shirley is survived by her four sons: Steve (Karen) High of Belle Center, Mike High of Lakeview, Pat High of Lakeview and Chris High of Columbus Grove; a daughter-in-law, Patricia High of Grand Rapids, MI; fourteen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Ludwig of Greenville; and a sister-in-law, Wilma Thompson of Bluffton.

She was preceded in death by two children: Charlie High and an infant child; and several infant grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tammie High; four sisters: Mable Hathaway, Alice Joan Kohli, Patricia Thayer and Dorothy Lenhart; a brother, Don Thompson.

Shirley and her husband Nick were co-owners of the High Ceramic Shop.  She also drove school bus for Bath High School for eight years.  She attended and volunteered at Only Believe Ministries.  

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Pastor Ed Ingram officiating.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.

Friends may call from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Only Believe Ministries, 13815 Botkins Road, Botkins, Ohio 45306.
