Your invitation to be in the Aug. 12 Arlington village festival parade

The Arlington Village Festival is Friday and Saturday, Aug. 12-13.

One of the events is a parade and area organizations and businesses are invited to participate. The parade is at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug 12. Line up starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Arlington elevator lot and in front of the Arlington High School.

Junior Weihrauch, who directs the Bluffton Blaze of Lights parade, is the Arlington parade director. He invites local groups to participate and the an application form is attached to this story.

July 26 game night at The Cask Room

The Cask Room, 127 S. Main St., Ada, will host a game night later this month.

The event is from 5 to 10 p.m., Tuesday, July 26.  Sponsors of the game night say that whether you are new to board games, or a seasoned player, there is a game for you.

Game night is sponsored by The Knights of the Game Table. Members will be on hand to teach new games to all present.

July 28 Lunch and Learn focus on growth strategies

Protected growth strategies in a low interest rate environment is the topic of a free lunch and learn program held in Ada later this month.

The program takes place from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, July  28, at Community Health Professionals, 1200 S. Main St., Ada. Liberty National Bank of Ada is the program and lunch sponsor.

Chad Newsome and Michael McMeans will present the program. Persons interested in attending must rsvp by Thursday, July 21 to Deb Curlis at CHP, at 419-634-7443.

Varsity Singers' 2016-17 show premier performance Friday evening

"Love is in the Air" and you can't help but fall in love with the 2016-2017 Ada Varsity Singers show.

You can watch a special free premier performance at 7 p.m., Friday, July 15, in the Ada High School auditorium.

The Varsity Singers are putting their "heart and soul" into working hard this week to learn this year's competition show.

Under the direction of their new vocal director, Scott Henning, instrumental director, Jonathan Lischak, and new choreographer Zach Triscari, the VS plans to compete at Piqua, Findlay, Medina, Marion Harding, Marysville, as well as host their annual Music Feast show choir competition this school year.

It's an Icon Weekend - here's a preview of next week's area events

It's another summer weekend in Ada and the Icon Weekend edition provides information on events taking place in the Icon viewership area in a 13-page printer-friendly attachment. A printed version is available at the Ada Public Library.

Be a prince or princess on July 26

The Inn at ONU hosts its second  prince and princess tea of the summer on  Sunday, July 26.
