Men's winter basketball league registration underway

Bluffton Family Recreation is accepting registrations for a winter adult men’s basketball league, according to Joseph Beagle, BFR director.

The league will start play on Tuesday, Nov. 3. All games start at 6:30 p.m. and are played at BFR, Bluffton.

Registration, including payment and team roster, is due by Friday, Oct. 23. Team members must be 18 or older by Nov. 3. The price per team is $225.

Ohio Has Talent! auditions set for Nov. 13-14

Auditions for the ninth annual Ohio Has Talent! competition will be held Nov. 13-14, 5-9 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.
Audition applications are available at www.comhealthpro.org and are due by Oct. 30.

The top acts will perform in the March 5, 2016, show at Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert. All entertainment talents are welcome including single and group acts. Talents beyond singing and dancing are especially encouraged to audition.

Contestants will compete for prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250. Winners are based solely on votes collected from the audience.

Wine and design event at Streamline Insurance Oct. 27

A wine and design event will be held at Streamline Insurance Solutions, 4171 State Route 235, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Artist Darrell Seiler will instruct the featured artwork of a pumpkin. The menu features mini grilled cheese, meatballs, pecan pumpkin baked brie, and more.

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by calling Chantel Seiler at 419-233-1211.

Ready, set, hike your way to Wilson's garage sale

Wilson Sporting Goods Co., Ada, holds its annual football "garage" sale from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 26, at the sporting goods company.

The sale includes footballs, overruns, blemished footballs and scrap footballs and many other miscellaneous sporting good items.
 

This is Bluffton's weekend for a fall festival

Last Saturday was Ada's fall event. This weekend it's Bluffton's turn.

FROM THE BLUFFTON ICON - The Bluffton community’s 12th annual Fall Festival, with many family-oriented activities, takes place throughout the community on Saturday, Sept. 26, according to Daren Lee of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, who coordinates the festival.

ReStore revival and benefit Oct. 3

The second annual revival and benefit for ReStore Community Center takes place from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Ada Church of Christ, 316 S. Main St., Ada.

Preaching will be Bill Roszman of Ada, Dee Whaley of Clyde, Jim Bloomfield of Marion and Ernie Pagel of Findlay.

Singing will be Sandy and Kaylene of Alger, Flora Adkins of Mansfield, Carl Woodring of Shelby and Wayne Vaughn of Ada.
