Ada Ministerial Association hosts 2023 Baccalaureate, May 25

As another year at Ada High School comes to a close, the Ada Ministerial Association will be hosting the 2023 Ada High School Baccalaureate service at 7:00 p.m. on May 25 in the English Chapel on the campus of Ohio Northern University.

Reminder: Neighborhood Revitalization meeting on May 13

Hardin County and the Village of Ada are preparing to apply for a grant to make improvements in the community. The Village is holding a meeting to discuss cost estimates of residents’ priorities, community projects to match the proposed grant and reasons to invest in the Village.

The meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023, in the Ada Railroad Depot, 110 Central Avenue, Ada, Ohio.

Tickets on sale for May 18 Ada Rotary Chicken BBQ

The Ada Rotary is hosting a Chicken BBQ fundraiser with proceeds goig to High School Scholarship and Ada Community Projects.

The event is Thursday, May 18 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at Hays Insurance, 202 South Main St., Ada.

  • 1⁄2 Chicken, Baked Beans, Potato Salad
  • $10 Per Meal
  • Prepared by Mike Bollinger, “Chicken at the Lake”
  • Carryout/Drive-Thru Only
  • Free Delivery for Senior Citizens or 4+ dinners

Tickets may be purchased from Rotary members as well as at Quest Federal Credit Union and Middlefield Bank

DIY NATURE--DANDELION SALVE

At 1:00 p.m. on Sunday May 14, the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will  offer DIY Nature–Dandelion Salve at the Ottawa Metro Park, Miami Shelter, 2632 Ada Rd. Lima.

Learn about the dandelion and decide for yourself if it is a friend or foe. A short walk and time to create a hand cream for you to take home will be included. Please dress  appropriately for the weather. Register by May 12 by calling 419-221-1232 or go to www.jampd.com/

Master gardener plant sale on May 20

HARDIN COUNTY–The 18th Annual Hardin County Master Gardener Plant Sale will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20--rain or shine--at the Friendship Gardens of Hardin County.  The Friendship Gardens of Hardin County is located behind the old HARCO Workshop Building, 960 W Kohler Street in Kenton. Follow the signs to the parking that is available at the garden.  

In addition to plants and garden items supplied by the Hardin County OSU Extension Master  Gardener Volunteers, there will also be the Hardin County Men’s Garden Club and vendor Star  Farms Native Plants at this annual event with plants for sale. In the past, the public has been  able to find a wide choice of their favorite flowers, bedding plants, roses, herbs, trees, and  various other potted plants at this event.
