It's Bingo on Thursdays in October

Ada Bingo plays on Thursdays at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; Bingo begins at 6:55 p.m. Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as, traditional paper packages. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club and Ada Music Boosters.

Ada's Halloween schedule released

Several Halloween-related events are planned in October in Ada. In fact you can dress up three times in October.

Tuesday – Oct. 23 – Trick-or-treat on Ohio Northern University campus 5:30-7:30 p.m. Registration is at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday – Oct. 25 – Trick-or-treat night in Ada, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Monday – Oct. 29 – Ada downtown Halloween parade; during and following the parade will be pumpkin cookie decorating at ReStore.

The Expendables 2 (R) starts Friday at Ada Theatre

The Expendables 2 (R) will start at the Ada Theatre this weekend, Sept. 21, according to James Curlis, owner.

Schedule:

• Friday and Saturday 7 and 9 p.m.

• Saturday and Sunday Matinee  4 p.m.

• Daily 7 p.m.

Some reminders about Ada HS homecoming

Ada High School homecoming is Oct. 6. The high school office reminds freshmen through seniors that school fees need to be paid or a partial payment made before students may purchase homecoming tickets.

In addition, Emergency Medical Formsmust be turned in before students can purchase a ticket.

For students wanting to bring a guest from outside of the Ada school or alumni to the dance, a guest request form is required. This form is available in the high school office. The deadline for turning in a guest request form is by 3:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28.

ONU Dance Company performs with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company

 

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC) with the ONU Dance Company on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m.

Founded in 1968 by Dayton, Ohio, native Jeraldyne Blunden, DCDC is the oldest modern dance company in Ohio and one of the largest companies of its kind between Chicago and New York City. Now in its 43rd year, DCDC has won national and international acclaim and is renowned for powerful, artistic performances, a diverse repertoire of works by world-class choreographers, and excellence in educational programming.

University presents chamber music concert with guests from Romania

 

The Ohio Northern University Department of Music presents “An Evening of Chamber Music,” featuring members of the Arad Philharmonic, in Presser Hall’s Snyder Recital Hall on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

This event is the final stage of an exchange program between ONU and the Arad Philharmonic, located in Western Romania. The Arad Philharmonic is under the administrative direction of Dr. Alin Vacean, with recital members Dorina Moldovan on oboe and Sandu Moldovan on bassoon.
