Aging Out of Children from Children’s Service meeting on February 28

The League of Women Voters of the Lima Area will hold an informational  meeting on the Aging Out of Children from Children’s Service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday,  February 28 at the Children’s Services Building, 123 W.  Spring St., Lima.

The guest speaker will be Sarah Newland from Children’s Services. This meeting is open to the public.  

The League of Women Voters of the Lima Area encourages informed and active  participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public  policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The  group has positions on government, social and environmental issues.

April 27 Kiwanis BBQ dinner

The Ada Kiwanis Club is selling tickets for 101 Smokehouse BBQ dinners on Thursday April 27, 2023 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Hays Insurance Drive Thru.

There are two menu options:

  • Pulled Pork Sandwich, Baked Beans, Coleslaw
  • Pulled Chicken Sandwich, Baked Beans, Coleslaw

Dinners are carry out only, $10.00 per ticket.

RSVP deadline for Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance event in Ada

The 16th annual Dinner Meeting and Award Presentation will take place from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23 at ONU's MacIntosh Center, 402 W. College Ave. A member mixer will be held from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the Inn at ONU.

Join Hancock Park District for ‘Maple Sugarin'

FINDLAY- Spring is almost here and the temperatures are starting to fluctuate. This means that conditions are right for collecting maple tree sap. Step back in time to see the process the pioneers and Native Americans used to collect sap, transport it to the sugar bush, and boil it down to produce sweet maple syrup.

Quarry Farm to host Great Backyard Bird Count hike on Feb. 18

PANDORA—Join birders at The Quarry Farm Nature Preserve & Conservation Farm on Saturday, February 18 for a 9:00 a.m. hike in celebration of the world-wide Great Backyard Bird Count.

Organizers explain, "We will record the species that we spot in the nature preserve and the complete list will be submitted to ebird.org to help set a new record for birding. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable, sturdy walking shoes. Admission is free but donations are appreciated."
