Cross forms committee to explore run for Ohio house seat

Today, Hardin County native, Jon Cross, who currently serves as President & CEO of the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance, has filed paperwork with the Hardin County Board of Elections to form a campaign committee to explore a run in 2018 for State Representative of the 83rd Ohio House District, which includes Hancock, Hardin and part of Logan Counties

Nathan Brooks has been designated treasurer of the Friends of Jon Cross Committee.

As recently reported by the Kenton Times, current State Representative Robert Sprague is exploring a potential run for a statewide office in 2018, therefore providing a potential open seat during the next election cycle.

ONU Chaplain has sermon published in journal designed for campus ministry

The Rev. David MacDonald, Ohio Northern University chaplain, recently published the text of a sermon, “College Faith 101: Be Transformed,” in The Term: A Word for the Campus by the Campus.

The publication is a semi-annual journal produced by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of The United Methodist Church. It features sermons, reflections, essays and other resources for campus ministry.

Applications circulating for this year's Distinquished Citizen of Ada

The Town and Gown Committee wants to know.

The 51st annual Ada Town and Gown Banquet will be held in the McIntosh Center ballroom on the campus of Ohio Northern University on Monday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m.

An application form is attached at the bottom of this story.

Applications are being accepted for the 2016 winner. The guidelines follow:

• The nominee should be a person who looks at what they can do for others and their community to make a positive impact.

Dysert now an Arizona Cardinal - joins practice squad

Ada's Favorite Son is still in the NFL.

The Arizona Cardinals signed quarterback Zac Dysert to its practice squad this week. Dysert was in training camp with the Miami Dolphins this year before being released in the final roster cuts earlier this month. The Cardinals are going with two quarterbacks on the active roster - Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton - after releasing Matt Barkley.
