Enter the Icon holiday football

The 2020-21 Bluffton and Ada Icon football bowl contest is here.

This year's contest includes 15 bowl games played from Dec. 30 through Jan. 2.

Contest rules
Contestants may enter as many times as they wish, but each new entry must be in a different name. When more than one entry is submitted using the same name those entries will be disqualified.

In the contest pick the winner of each bowl game. There are two tie-breakers. In the event that a tie still exists after the second tie-breaker is counted the earliest entry will be declared the winner.

The entry deadline is noon on Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Why is there a curve on State Route 235 north of Ada near U.S. 30?

Older resident might remember when the curve was a 90-degree jog in the road.

Just north of Bluffton on Bentley Road there’s also a curve in the road, similar to the one on SR 235.

These curves have been modernized by state and county road crews, as once upon a time they were 90-degree jogs.

OAC shifts wrestling schedule to Sundays

The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced a shift for its regular season wrestling schedule, moving all contests from Saturdays to Sundays for the 2021 season.

Wrestling will determine its OAC champion with a round-robin schedule of meets held on Jan. 24 at Mount Union and Feb. 7 at Ohio Northern.

All eight schools will also compete at Baldwin Wallace on Jan. 31 in a schedule yet to be determined.

The NCAA Central Regional Championships on Feb. 26-27 at Alma, Mich., and the NCAA III Championships at LaCrosse, Wis., on March 12-13 remain unchanged.
