70 Ada and area youth improve their swimming skills

Seventy Ada youth improved their swimming skills thanks to a nine-day Red Cross swimming course at the Ada pool, according to Saundra Neely, American Red Cross water safety instructor.

During the lessons 36 volunteers assisted, giving in excess of 311 hours of their time for Ada youth to become safer in and around water. Some helpers were in the water, while others worked on deck and some did both.

Zac Dysert on SportsTalk live from El Campo Mexican Restaurant on Friday

Zac Dysert will be featured on Vince Koza's live radio show, broadcast from downtown Ada on Friday. The show will be broadcast from El Campo Mexican Restaurant, 204 N. Main St. from 5 to 7 p.m.

Dysert will be the guest on SportsTalk on 93.1 FM The Fan Sports Radio.

The Ada High School and Miami football standout was drafted by the Denver Broncos this spring. He will report to Bronco training camp on Monday.

It's Christmas in July at Liberty National - food pantry collection underway

During the week of July 22, Liberty National Bank will celebrate Christmas in July by collecting non-perishable food items for the Ada Food Pantry.

Ada's office will accept donations during business hours:
• Monday – Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,
• Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and
• Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to Noon.

"Join the bank and help our community by donating to the Ada Food Pantry," said Heather Cox.

Downtown's newest business - Ada Flea Market

The ribbon was cut and it's official. The Ada Flea Market, 111 N. Main St., Ada, is open for business as the community's newest business. To help launch its grand opening the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Friday.

Gus and Norma Guthrie own the business that will be open each Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The business phone number is 419-296-3243.

According to Gus Guthrie, the flea market offers "something for everybody."

It offers antiques, collectibles, glassware, matress sets, used furniture, used tools, some new tools, crafts, toys and houseware.

Village offers water customers several payment options

Water Bill Payment Options

In order to provide customers with the tools they need, the Village of Ada offers a number of water bill payment options. Bills are printed on a monthly basis, usually around the 25th of each month, and payments are due on the 10th of each month.

Many customers stop in the Village office to pay their bills. Payments can be made in the office during regular office hours, and accepted payment methods are check, cash, money order, and Visa, MasterCard and Discover debit/credit cards.
