Over 180 vendors and growing!

Saturday's 32nd Harvest and Herb Festival is huge

Saturday’s Harvest and Herb Festival stretches all the way from the First United Methodist Church, just north of Highland Avenue…all the way to Lehr Avenue.

And not counting this week, over 180 vendors were already registered, making this one of the largest-ever festivals.

Everybody loves, or at least "Likes," the Ada Icon.

Today your local online news service passed 2,000 "Likes" on Facebook. That's a significant number of computers tracking Ada area news on a daily basis in a town with little more than 1,000 homes.

Yes, some people have two computers, and ONU students tune into our news as well. Plus, the Ada Icon goes throughout the world. We are accessed by people in nearly every state each month and, in a year's time, by people in more than 100 countries.

Choir director named at Ada U.M. Church

Scott Henning, Ada High School vocal music director, has been named choir director at the Ada United Methodist Church. He received the Bachelor of Music degree at Otterbein University, studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and has performed with opera companies in Cleveland and Columbus as well as with several symphonies.

Bulldog boys runners improve at Riverdale

MT. BLANCHARD - The Ada cross country teams competed at the Riverdale
Invitational Thursday afternoon.

The Bulldog boys finished eighth out of 12 teams, beating Hardin Northern,
Allen East, Cory-Rawson and Pandora-Gilboa. The Ada boys finished four
places higher than they did at last year's Riverdale meet.

Ada boys times:
Reece Evans 19:40
Hunter Wells 20:20
Michael Crouse 20:23
Jacob Morgan 21:47
Ian Dellifield 25:35

The Lady Bulldogs finished last in eighth place, only one point behind
seventh-place Hardin Northern.

Ada opens NWC play at Jefferson tonight

ADA - Ada will try to rebound from a disappointing loss in their home opener to LCC when they kick off Northwest Conference play at four-time defending league champion Delphos Jefferson Friday.

Ada (2-1) can get a leg up on its quest for a first NWC title since 2013 with a win at the Wildcats. But they will have to play much better than they did in the 41-21 loss to LCC.

After a mostly close first half, the dangerous Jeff-Cats (2-1) hammered Paint Valley 54-20 last Saturday afternoon. Jefferson previously lost to Shawnee 27-6 at home in their opener, then edged past Versailles 14-7 in week two.

Bearcats win NWC title

PAULDING - Spencerville won a four-team Northwest Conference golf match Thursday at the Auglaize Golf Course to clinch the league regular season championship.

 

Spencerville finished first with 160 strokes, followed by Paulding (177), Crestview (205) and Ada (225).

 

Bearcat Gavin Harmon was match medalist with a 36, nosing out teammate Ethan Harmon's 37.

 

Alex Morgan topped the Bulldogs with a career-low score of 47. Brevin Sizemore shot a 55. Wyatt Baderstcher carded a 61 and Austin Amburgey added a 62.

 

Rob Allison also posted a 64 and Jake Colwell added a 73.
