Next Ada Red Cross blood drive Sept. 19

Ada's next American Red Cross blood drive is from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19, at Community Health Professionals, 1200 S. Main St.

Donors have the opportunity to get a buy-one-get-one free ticket offer from the Columbus Blue Jackets and also to enter a drawing for a team prize pack and Zamboni ride.

To schedule an appointment to donate blood on Sept. 19 call 419-634-1333. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Downtown Redevelopment Districts topic Sept. 16 in Kenton

Hardin County's next Economic & Community Development Committee meeting on at 8 a.m., Friday, Sept. 16, at Henry's Restaurant in Kenton.  

Jon Cross said, "We are excited introduce and welcome to the community, Dr. John C. Navin, the new Dean of Ohio Northern University's Dicke College of Business Administration.  Please join us to meet Dean Navin and welcome him to Hardin County."

The guest presenter is Nate Green, Director of Economic Development for the Montrose Group, LLC.  He will provide details about Ohio House Bill 233, Downtown Redevelopment Districts (DRD) and how it can be enacted via local municipal legislation.

Easter House Bed and Breakfast hosts next "Business After Hours"

The next Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance "Business After Hours" is Thursday, Sept. 22, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Easter House Bed and Breakfast, 508 N. Main St. Ada.

Alliance staff will host extended community office hours to welcome members and the general public to exchange ideas, discuss business and community needs and answer any questions about the Alliance activities, programs and events.

Ada school evaulated as precautionary measure; back in session

First, there was a two-hour fog delay this morning at Ada schools.

Then, at approximately 11 a.m. a gas regulator was broken resulting in a precautionary evacuation of the buildings. Emergency personnel were dispatched, according to the Ada schooll e-mail alert system.

The problem was fixed. All students are safely back in class at this time.
