According to instructor Lynne Scott, people are having so much fun at her Aqua Zumba classes, they refer to them as “pool parties.”
Held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-7:45 p.m. at the Ada Municipal Pool on South Park Drive, the classes have drawn as many as 30 people since hot weather finally arrived.
“It was pretty chilly in June,” said Scott. “but we’ve really been gaining momentum in the past few weeks.”

Five members from Ada Boy Scout Troop 124 completed a 10-day high adventure canoe trip to Northern Tier Canoe Base in Ely, Minnesota.
Northern Tier is a canoe base owned by the BSA and is on the Boundary Waters between Minnesota, Ontario, and Manitoba. The five members attending were Isaac Spar, Dexter Woods III, Jacob Butterfield, and adult leaders Don Spar, and Tom Lehman.
Over the course of 10 days, eight spent on the water, the group canoed over
77 miles and portaged there canoes around 17 times, one portage being over a
mile. All food, clothing, and equipment for the eight days was carried in
the canoes and portaged over land.

Let your voice be heard! Owner of Miss Vicki’s Music Studio, Vicki Mills, has also devoted herself to a non-profit venture, the Noteworthy Community Choir.
This summer, Mills is conducting Noteworthy’s first-ever Summer Sounds Choral Camp, July 15-19 at Ohio Northern University.
“I want kids to come to camp and sing their hearts out,” Mills said. “I want them to be able to move, create, and experience making music.”
FROM ONU DEPT. OF ART AND DESIGN FACEBOOK - Ohio Northern University graduate Jill Davis (BFA/art ’94) has designed the set for “A Midsummer Night's Dream” by William Shakespeare that opened this month at the Chautauqua Theater Company.
Jill is currently an associate professor and the resident scenic and lighting designer in the department of Theatre at Case Western Reserve University.
Prior to her appointment, she has a number of years of experience in scenic design and scenic painting in professional theater.
