Hope for Everhart raises funds for liver transplant expenses

KENTON--Glazed Over Kenton doughnut shop recently hosted a “Dine to Donate” event which raised $587 to benefit Hope for Everhart, a drive to assist Hardin County sheriff Keith Everhart with medical expenses associated with a late 2022 liver transplant.

After learning about Everhart’s prognosis and the significant costs after insurance posed by his operation, a group of community members formed the Hope for Everhart committee and set out to explore fundraising options.

Ada Schools announce 3rd quarter Honor Roll

The Ada Exempted Village Schools have announced the following Honor Roll for grades 4-12 for the third quarter of the 2022-2023 academic year. A Dean's List is also recognised for grades 7-12. By our count, 328 students recieve special recognition.

Gator swimmers close to wrapping up winter season

The local Gators summer swim program recently recognized members at several schools who are participating in winter swim competition:

"Although the winter swim season has not yet wrapped entirely, we do want to congratulate all of our high school swimmers that finished their season in February. This year our Gators proudly competed for Ada, Bath, Findlay and Lima Senior swim teams. Winter swim is a whole other level of effort and dedication and we are so proud of all their efforts!

Ten AHS art students featured in 2023 Kewpee Invitational

Ten Ada High School students had 18 pieces of artwork on display in the 2023 Kewpee High School Invitational Exhibit at Artspace/Lima. Additional photos are posted HERE on the Ada Bulldogs Facebook page.

 Ada students receiving awards for their work are:

  • Brendan Jameson - 2nd Place in Ceramics for “Drippy Vase”
  • Kya Tabler - 2nd Place in Mixed Media for “Modern Angel”

Baby quilt donation by local Soroptimist International

Soroptimist International of Kenton/Hardin County donated hand made baby quilts to Safe Haven of Hardin County.

Accepting the donation are Deb Oestreich and Bev Bahr. Project Care and Comfort Chair Annetta Holmes and Club President Karen Kier made the presentation at the March 2 meeting of the club. PHOTO
