Free football clinic for youth

ONU will sponsor a free football youth clinic on Sunday, April 29 at Dial-Roberson Stadium. The clinic is open to youth ages 6-13.

 

Athletes attending will participate in drills and activities conducted by the ONU coaching staff and players. The ONU team’s scrimmage will follow. Youth attending the clinic are encouraged to stay to watch the scrimmage and meet the coaches and players.

 

Registration will be held from noon until 12:30. The clinic will last an hour. The scrimmage will last two hours.

How many boxes did you buy?

2,008 and counting sold in Ada

More than 2,000 boxes of cookies sold.

It’s Girl Scout cookie time, and if you haven’t ordered any, you are out of luck this year. Sometimes the youngsters have extra cookies to sell in front of Four Seasons or at McIntosh Center, but this year the girls have sold them all: an incredible 2,008 boxes.

So, if you see some Adaites gaining a few pounds in the next couple of weeks, blame it on the successful cookie sale.

St. Rita’s lifts restrictions on visits

With a continued decrease in influenza through our community and a decrease in positive influenza admissions, Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center has lifted the restrictions prohibiting those under the age of 14 from visiting the hospital.  

The hospital will continue to discourage anyone who  is exhibiting signs of illness from visiting their loved ones so as to prevent any future spread of the flu.  

The hospital encourages everyone to cover their cough and wash their hands.

Science Day Saturday at ONU

Students from 85 high schools in 10 counties will display their projects at the Mathile Center on Saturday morning during the annual Science Day held at Ohio Northern for many years. Winners will advance to state competition. ONU science faculty members and students in PAWS (Professional Association of Women in Science) will serve as judges.

Rotary speech competition winner announced

Melina Woods (right) won the Ada Rotary Club speech competition. Kaiti Newland was runner-up.  Melina qualified for the district competition.
