Apollo salon and spa, floral design shop, Garden Cafe now open

Ada HS students involved in these programs

The Apollo Cosmetology Salon and Spa will open Wednesday, Oct. 12.  The Salon is open 8 to 10:45 a.m.  Services offered include color, cut, styling, perms, manicures pedicures and artificial nails. The Apollo Spa is open 11:40 a.m.- 2:25 p.m. Call 419.998.2901 to set up an appointment for all services. Appointments will be available Wednesday-Friday.

Elementary Fall Literacy Night Oct 19

The Ada Elementary School invites K-3 parents to its Fall Literacy Night on Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 7-7:30.

Parents will begin in the cafeteria discussing some literacy assessments, then they will see a day in the life of students in the classroom with the classroom teachers.

Parents are asked to notify your student's teacher if you plan to attend.

You'll find "PEGS" in Bluffton

With a Hancock County sticker, we found "PEGS" in the parking lot of the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. It's on a neon blue Chrysler.

82 degrees outside and 96 winter coats delivered to ReStore

The temperature reached 82 degrees Friday (89 is the record) but 96 winter coats were delivered to ReStore to be given to children in need. Don't let the warm temperatures fool you, winter is on the way, be prepared.

Thanks to the Knights of Columbus in Kenton, many children in Ada will have warm winter wear.

The free coats will be given out starting Thursday, Oct. 13. The child receiving the coat must be accompanied by a parent, one coat per child. The coats mostly fit kids from 4 to 11 years of age.

ReStore, at 210 N. Main, is open 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

ReStore's 10th anniversary celebration Nov. 1

Assistance for Ada families in need during the holidays

This year’s “Blessings for Christmas” program gets underway this month.

The program offers assistance to Ada school district families in need during the holidays, according to Gwen Jochims, program coordinator.

Individuals, families, organizations and businesses interested in sponsoring a family contact Jochims at [email protected] for details.

Sign-up schedule for families needing assistance follows:
• Tuesday, Oct. 11 – 4 to 6 p.m.
• Tuesday, Oct. 18 – 4 to 6 p.m.
• Saturday, Oct. 29 – 10 a.m. to noon
