The Buy Ada First committee will host a pizza cook-off event at the Ada Depot, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 26, at the Ada Depot.
Local restaurants will enter pizza of their choice and residents are welcome to taste the pizza and vote on their favorite. The local restaurant with the most votes will win the 2015 Pizza Cook-off People’s Favorite Choice Award. The winner will be announced around 7:30 p.m.
Ada Bingo plays every Thursday at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada. Doors open at 5:30; Bingo begins at 6:55. Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as, traditional paper packages. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club, Ada Music Boosters and the Ada-Liberty Volunteer Fire Department

Ada High School homecoming activities start Friday and run to next Friday as a long "Spirit Week" holds several daily events. The Ada community is invited to join school students in several of the after-school events.

Compton taught at the university from 1967 to 2002. Since retirement from ONU, he has served as pastor of Rhinehart United Methodist Church near Mt. Victory. His four-door Caddy was custom made for Nelson Rockefeller.
