"Have Some Cents" hopes to raise 1 million pennies; proceeds go to ReStore

The Ohio Northern University Dicke College of Business Administration Sales and Customers Relationship class is conducting a “Have Some Cents” project in hopes of collecting one million pennies by May 1.

The purpose of the project is to spotlight the wastefulness of the U.S. government manufacturing more pennies that cost the taxpayers money and show there are more than enough pennies in circulation.

It appears to be a busy spring in Ada.

Headwaters of upper Scioto River could serve as beaver reintroduction effort

Save the Mammals, a national proactive wildlife organization dedicated to animal heritage projects, this week announced its intention to reintroduce beavers in Ohio.

The feeder streams of the upper Scioto River, just south of Ada, are among four areas in Ohio under consideration for reintroduction of the once-common Scioto Marsh mammal.

The other three areas are Ripley, near the Ohio River in southwestern Ohio; Barnesville in southeastern Ohio; and a yet-to-be named area in northeastern Ohio.

Say goodbye to March weather

Has winter run its course? During March 1-24, the area had 11 days with snow on the ground, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

Lots of activities this week and next at Ada schools

The end of March and early-April calendar is full of activities at Ada schools. Here's an update of activities from the school website.

DATES TO REMEMBER:

March 27th: FFA Banquet in Cafeteria 6:30 – 8:30 PM
March 28th: Grades will be sent home with students.
March 28th: National Honor Society Induction Ceremony Auditorium 7:30 – 9:00 PM

Ada Senior Citizens meet March 26

Ada Senior Citizens will meet at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, at the Community Health Professionals Building on State Route 235.

Lynn Knoble of Premier Designs will present high-fashion jewelry and spring fashion tips.

She sais to bring your friends and see what you can do to perk up your wardrobe. Men can get gift ideas. No high pressure to buy anything.

This is a fun and informative event. Members and non-members welcome.
