Town hall meeting April 23 with Congressman Jordan

Sponsored by Allen and Hardin for Election Action and Democracy

Members of the public are invited to attend a town hall meeting featuring U.S. Congressional Representative Jim Jordan. The event will be held from 6:‐8: p.m. Monday, April 24 in the South Hall of the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center in Lima. The town hall is sponsored by Allen and Hardin for Election Action and Democracy (AHEAD), in partnership with other groups in Representative Jordan’s district.

Jim Jordan (R‐Urbana) has represented Ohio’s Fourth Congressional District in the US House of Representatives since 2007 and is a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus.

Austin Amburgey is this year's club president

Ada Barnyard Farmers 4-H Club had their second successful meeting of the year last week. Here are the new officers of the club:

Members who had demonstrations were the Ferguson's. Refreshments were by the Amburgey's. Unfinished business included Books are not in yet.

Time to clean house

ONU Recycle student group is ready to collect your throw-aways

By now, most people have a collection of unwanted electronic devices, so the ONU Recycle student group is collecting items to be recycled to protect the environment. 

This free service is available to all in the Ada area, including the local community and university community.

Items will be collected from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at Heterick Memorial Library.

They will accept computers, laptops, monitors, mice, keyboards, CDs, VCRs, DVDs, speakers, printers, computer cables, floppy discs, cell phones, scanners, tablets, battery chargers, and small, broken appliances such as microwaves.

Steel band festival set for April 22,  6 bands to perform

ONU will host a steel band festival beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 in the north gym of King Horn Center on campus. The concert is free and open to the public.

In addition to the ONU Steel Band, bands from Bowling Green State University, Toledo School for the Arts, Clark Montessori School, Lima Arts Magnet School and the Ohio Avenue Steel Band from Columbus will join the headliner, Tracy Thornton, for a high-energy rock ‘n’ roll concert. 

ONU Assistant Women's Soccer Coach  named

Jess Kodiak has been named an assistant women's soccer coach at Ohio Northern.

She joins the Polar Bears after serving as a Graduate Assistant for the Ohio University women's soccer team, while getting her Master's Degree in Coaching Education.

Prior to her stint at OU, Kodiak served as a Volunteer Assistant at Miami (Ohio) University for one year.

A 2013 graduate of Miami (Ohio) University, Kodiak earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business with a focus on supply chain management.

The Naperville, Ill. native was a standout student-athlete on the Redhawks soccer team as she was a 4-year member of the team.
