Vacation Bible School upcoming at Ada First United Methodist Church

What potion is the mad scientist and his cohort cooking up now? If you go to the Ada First United Methodist Church between June 25-29 for Vacation Bible School, you’ll find out.

Dave Lusk and Amy Dennis (pictured) will lead the science portion of VBS for ages 3 to 3rd grade.

The theme this year is “Faith Lab,” which is a science-based program. Students in grades 4-6 will participate in community service projects.

The Monday-Friday VBS runs from 5-7:30 p.m. The church is located at 3O1 N. Main. Registration is available at adaumc.org.

Ada Family Center is moving

Ada Family Center is moving, according to Pastor Ray Hadley. The congregation will meet at Center on Central for the first time at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 3.

“All are invited to our kickoff celebration,” Pastor Hadley said. “We are excited to be planting roots in the community we love. Join us for great music and a relevant message.” There is a children’s church and nursery available, as well.

The first day in the new home of the congregation will conclude with a meal following the service. Ada Family Center formerly met at McIntosh Center.

She will discuss “Flowers in the King’s Garden.” The Daughters of the King Banquet will begin at 6 p.m. An RSVP would be appreciated so that the organizing group will know how many to plan for. Call 419-326-7521. There is no cost.

Methodist gain parking spaces

The Ada United Methodist Church has entered into a purchase agreement to buy the property directly west of the church to be used for parking. The existing house will be torn down to make room for about 15 parking spaces.
