Noteworthy Community Choir auditions coming

Vicki Mills, artistic director; choir will give guest appearance in Ada's June pops concert

Noteworthy Community Choir announces opening season auditions, March 12 - 17, according to Vicki Mills, Ada, choir artistic director.

Interested singers, ages 8 - 88+ should contact NCC to schedule an audition.  NCC will make a guest appearance at the Ohio Northern University, Lima Symphony Orchestra Patriotic Pops Concert on June 30, in addition to performances throughout the area. 

Audition, rehearsal, and tuition details can be found atwww.noteworthycc.org, or by calling 419-679-8259.  Weekly rehearsals in Ada and Lima run April 9 through June 30.

Flowers always work for Valentine's Day

Ada Senior Citizens meetings set

The Ada Senior Citizens will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Feb. 14, at Community Health Professionals for card games, snacks, and a business meeting.

The group will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Vancrest to play cards and visit residents.

This year’s officers are Chloe Cole, president; Phyllis Battels, vice president ; Diane Heise, treasurer; Jane Helser, secretary; and Don Traxler, media relations

Alice M. Clark 1923-1918

Alice M. Clark, age 94, died on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 9:55 a.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.                                                        .

            She was born April 30, 1923, to James B. and Coza Vera (Hodges) Rex, who preceded her in death.  On April 5, 1942, she married James Clark, Jr. and who died March 10, 2017.

Social Justice Movement discussion

Part of MLK commemoration - Tuesday morning

As part of the commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s visit to ONU 50 years ago, the Office of Multicultural Development will sponsor a panel discussion about the Social Justice Movement. Local residents and faculty, staff, and students are invited to the discussion which will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, in English Chapel on campus.

Women’s track finishes 4th of 17 teams

WESTERVILLE — The No. 5-ranked Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team finished fourth at the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday at Otterbein's Clements Recreation Center.

The Polar Bears (28-5 overall) finished fourth of 17 teams with 67 points. Otterbein won the team title with 109 points, Mount Union was second with 106 points and Ohio Wesleyan was third with 87 points.

Sophomore Taylor Lavey (New Baltimore, Mich./Findlay) and junior All-American Maddie Reed (Piketon) led Ohio Northern individually with second place finishes.
