PTSD topic of talks

Two ONU professors will speak on their NIH research pertaining to post-traumatic stress disorder and its effects on the heart and memory formation.

Boyd Rorabaugh, professor of pharmacology and cell biology, and Phillip Zoladz, associate professor of psychology, will speak at Ada Chats, which is a series of talks sponsored by the Ada Public Library and Heterick Library.

The presentations by the professors will take place at Heterick at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19. The program is free and open to the public.

Adult book club to meet

A book by one of the world's most read authors, Paulo Coelho, will be discussed at the next meeting of the Adult Book Club at the Ada Public Library. The group will meet to discuss "The Alchemist" at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7. All are welcome to join the club.

Coelho's works have been translated into many languages. "The Alchemist" is his most popular novel. He was born in Portugal, but now makes his home in Brazil.  He has over 12 million Facebook followers.

Maus now winningest women's CC coach at ONU

ONU senior Emily Richards (Delaware/Hayes) finished 10th of 332 runners on Saturday afternoon to lead the Polar Bears at the Principia (Ill.) Cowbell Classic Pre-Nationals meet.

The Polar Bears (63-26 overall) finished 17th of 36 teams at the event.

Head coach Jason Maus improved his overall record at Ohio Northern to 749-342 and surpassed former head coach Brian Cole to become to winningest women's head cross country coach in school history.
