ONU hosts Final Qualifier for men’s indoor track and field

Senior Alexander Sibila (Zionsville, Ind.) and Luke Bogdanovich (Akron/Coventry) highlighted the Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team as the Polar Bears competed in the Polar Bear Final Qualifier on Saturday afternoon at the Sports Center.

No team scores were kept in the meet.

Bogdanovich and Sibila each posted third places finishes to lead the way for Northern.

Sibila finished third in the high jump with a leap of 6' 4", while Bogdanovich was third in the triple jump with a jump of 40' 5".

Sophomore Noah McKee (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) finished fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 37' 9.25"

In the 60-meter hurdles, freshman Owen Lloyd (Colfax, Ind./Clinton Prairie) and sophomore Brian Ruffini (Dennison/Claymont) finished 4-5, as Lloyd was fourth in :8.77 and narrowly edged his teammate, who finished fifth in :8.77.

Sophomore Michael Ross (Hinckley/Highland) led four Polar Bears in the 400-meter dash, finishing fifth in the event in :54.64.

Senior Ian McKee (Medina) finished fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:02.82, while teammate and freshman Dylan McKean (Warren/Champion) was fifth in the event in 2:05.34.

In the 200-meter dash, junior Nicholas Krugh (Van Wert) finished fourth in :24.42, while sophomore Cody Benny (Wapakoneta) was fifth in the event in :24.56.

Krugh also posted a fourth place finish in the long jump for ONU with a leap of 18' 3.75".

The Polar Bears return to action next weekend as senior Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) will compete in the 800-meter run and junior Ian McVey(Stow/Munroe Falls) will wait to see if he qualifies for the meet in the 3,000-meter run and the 5,000-meter run.
