A funeral service for former Ada physician, Dr. Robert Love, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Dr. Debow Freed and William Robinson officiating.

Following the service at the funeral home Military Honors will be conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.  Burial will be in Fairview Belle Center Cemetery, Belle Center, Ohio.

Friends may call 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with a Masonic Memorial Service at 5 p.m. on Friday with the Latham Lodge #154 of Kenton.

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present three student-directed one-act plays in the new Mathile Lab Theatre from April 24 to 27 at 7:30 p.m., and with matinee shows scheduled for April 26 and 27 at 2 p.m.

Ohio Northern University student Kellie Evans, a fifth-year pharmacy major from Westlake, Ohio, has been chosen as a recipient of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Student Leadership Award. Evans is one of 12 students in the nation to be selected for the award.

The Student Leadership Award is presented to students in their second through fourth professional years, for a total of 12 recipients across the nation. The award recognizes and celebrates students who represent the very best attributes and accomplishments of ASHP student members, specifically those who are interested in health-system pharmacy that have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills.

Class of 2013 graduates from Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law placed first in the state of Ohio for full-time juris doctor-required job placement according to employment data released by the American Bar Association Section on Legal Education and Admission to the Bar.

ONU surpassed the national average for jobs requiring a law degree by nearly 10 percent. For the graduating class of 2013, 66.67 percent of ONU law graduates were employed in jobs requiring juris doctors in the United States.

Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main St. Bluffton, will serve an Easter Sunday Five-Course Brunch on April 20 from 10 a.m. -2 p.m.  The regular menu will not be available.  Reservations are suggested: 567-226-1120.

Community Markets and parent company Fresh Encounter, Inc. are doing their part to help alleviate food shortage concerns throughout the state of Ohio by donating over $13,000 to area food banks and shelters.

Ada Food Panty food bank will be receiving $250 to assist with local food shortages. “We don’t think families across Ohio and Indiana should be worrying about the source of their next meal,” stated Fresh Encounter President/CEO Michael Needler, Jr; “It’s a start, and we plan on donating even more to additional worthwhile charities over the remainder of the year.”

President Heather Cox called the weekly meeting of the Ada Kiwanis Club to order at 12 noon on Tuesday, April 8 at McIntosh Center, ONU. The invocation was offered by Jon Umphress. Rachael Underwood and Josh Gammon were welcomed as guests. The birthday of member Matt Crawford (April 10th) was noted.
