Community Health Professionals Hospice-Beacon of Hope dinner and charity auction tickets are on on sale.

This year's event is Thursday, April 23, in the ONU Ball Room at McIntosh Center. Dinner is at 6 p.m. The auction is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 each.

According to Deb Curliss of Community Health Professionals, the event is an evening of fun and remembrances. There will be a live auction and a silent auction. All proceeds benefit the Visiting Nurses and Hospice services of Community Health Professionals.

Beacon Realty announces two open houses on Sunday, March 29, according to Becky Neville.

Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main St. Bluffton, will be offering A Tasting of Italian Wines and Pasta on Friday, March 27.

In lieu of the regular menu, there will be four courses of pasta paired with four different wines.

There will be two seatings--
5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. -- and reservations are strongly suggested (567-226-1120).

• Angel hair pasta nest with mascarpone creme, lemon, basil, peaches, caramelized leeks, and roasted pistachios

The Ohio Northern University Relay for Life exceeded its goal this year, according to Nicole Michalek.

"So we beat our goal! I also want to thank The Ada Icon and the community for supporting our cause. The event went on smoothly and everyone had a great time," said Michalek.

ONU's goal was $15,000 and it was topped by $300, meaning $15,300 was realized. The 12-hour relay, held March 20-21 in the King Horn Center is an annual ONU student-run event.

The group meets at noon on the second and fourth Wednesdays at Health Professionals for lunch, cards and board games. They have many other activities, as well.

The next Senior Dance at ReStore Community Center is from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 8. The Center is at 210 N. Main St.

Greg Probst will serve as manager of the Bluffton Farmers’ Market this year.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce announced the appointment. This year the chamber took over the responsibilities of the popular downtown Saturday market. The market will enter its 11th season when it opens on Saturday, May 2.

Probst has served as a vendor at the market since 2008. He in involved in Probst Family Farm, a Certified Naturally Grown Farm, located at 3463 State Route 103, Bluffton. In addition to his farmers’ market participation, Probst is also a member of the Bluffton fire department and EMS.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 18. The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its second spring event at the park with lots of activities taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.

Several events are still in the planning stages. There will be music activities, an animal exhibit, an opportunity for youth to take home a potted plant, emergency squad vehicle tours and a tree planting ceremony. There will also be fingerprinting for youth sponsored by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.

If you were in Ada on Saturday you may have thought you stepped back in time.

That is if you saw the 51st Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company B, set up camp in Ada. Not to worry. The group is a living history organization.

The company members had a demonstration for ONU Civil War classes. They will be at Appomattox on April 15, during the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's assassination.
