Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main St. Bluffton, is featured in the May 2015 issue of "Ohio Magazine."

Lemon Blackberry Shortcakes get top billing on the cover of the magazine and there is a photo of the summer dessert inside.  Chef Rhonda Moor says that her grandparents’ backyard berry patch inspired the fresh fruit she uses to create the “sweet compote that spills out from between two layers of a rustic shortcake.”

She indicated that her favorite food memories go back to her grandparents - the many delicious meals experienced with them and the incredibly loving environment in which they were provided.

The May dessert feature at the cafe will be the shortcakes.

This picture is "snot" what you think.

Members of the tree commission prepare red maples seedlings to hand out on two occasions. They scoop "elephant snot" into a plastic bag, drop in the tree, then tie up the bag.

"Elephant snot" (that"s what it looks like) is actually a compound that retains a large amount of water, thus if the tree is left in the bag for several days, the plant continues to live.

Twenty seedlings were given out at the Chamber Spring Fair in War Memorial Park on in mid-April, and 60 of the small trees were distributed to third graders on Arbor Day, April 24.

Senior Michelle Tuma clinched the match with a win at No. 1 doubles as Ohio Northern defeated John Carroll 5-2 in the championship match of the 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament on Saturday afternoon at the Lindner Tennis Center.

The top-seeded Polar Bears improve to 20-3, while the second-seeded Blue Streaks end their season at 15-7.

ONU earns the OAC's automatic bid into the NCAA III Tournament next week. The date, site and opponent will be announced by the NCAA on Monday evening.
