Spinach Salad and Dressing

Salad
• Spinach, torn
• Romaine lettuce, torn
• Mushrooms, sliced
• Hard boiled eggs, chopped
• Bacon, crispy and broken

Prepare the amount of lettuce as needed

Dressing
1/3 cup vinegar
1 cup oil
2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
Bacon bits
1/4 cup onion - diced
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. celery seed

A community pep rally, part of Ada High School homecoming, is set for 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 4.

The rally, open to the public, takes place in the Ada War Memorial Park.

Team members will wear uniform tops. Admission is $2 adults and $1 for students. This pays your way into the powerpuff game directly following the rally.

Ohio Northern University presents the 39th annual Law Review Symposium, “Turning Point: An Interdisciplinary Discussion of the Intersection of Privacy and Emerging Technologies,” in the Pettit College of Law’s Celebrezze Moot Court Room on Friday, Oct. 16.

During the symposium, a panel of legal experts will discuss the constantly changing world of technology, how it has evolved in the 21st century and its impact on the legal system. The event is sponsored by the Ohio Northern University Law Review and Carhart Program in Legal Ethics.

Ohio Northern University’s Dicke College of Business Administration honored Paul C. Carbetta II, a 1990 graduate, with an Outstanding Service Award on Saturday, Sept. 25.

         The award, given annually at Homecoming, honors individuals who have provided sustained and outstanding service to, and whose contributions have positively impacted, the Dicke College of Business Administration and Ohio Northern. This is the fifth year that Distinguished Alumni Awards have been presented by the college.

Ohio Northern University Dicke College of Business Administration student John Kramer, a 2015 ONU graduate and current MPPA candidate from Springboro, Ohio, was a member of a four-person team that took top honors in the “Project Run With It” competition at the 2015 Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) conference last month in Milwaukee, Wis.

“Project Run With It” is an opportunity for BAP members from schools around the world to work together to solve a real client issue for a not-for-profit organization. A total of 72 BAP student representatives competed and comprised 18 teams of four members.

Diners at ReStore gave nearly $600 Tuesday to Amelia for her medical expenses.

The spaghetti dinner, supporting the little girl and her family, was provided by Padrone's Pizza and Zeta Tau Alpha and Delta Zeta sororities.

Another benefit, which was to be held Tuesday, was rescheduled for Oct. 6 due to the rain. The ONU Child Development Center and Ready, Set, Grow Preschool trike-a-thon for Amelia will be held at the Center, 209 S. Union, from 11 a.m. until noon and again from 2 to 3 p.m.

Applications are being accepted for the 2015 Hardin County Agriculture Hall of Fame through the end of business on Oct. 16. 

Nominees must have made their major contribution to agriculture primarily as a result of being born, growing up, living in, or working in Hardin County, Ohio. 

Outstanding agriculturalists may be nominated by individuals or organizations. 

Nomination forms are available at the Hardin County OSU Extension office or on the Hardin County OSU Extension website at: hardin.osu.edu. 

The Ohio Northern University Athletic Hall of Fame inducted four new members on Sept. 25, as part of ONU’s Homecoming weekend.

The four inductees in the 2015 class are:
• Jaclyn Dight, a 2003 biology/premed graduate and track and field athlete from Weirton, W.Va.;
• Kristen (Barron) May, a 1997 environmental studies graduate from Bowling Green, Ohio; • William “Bill” Lang, a 1994 sociology major from Garfield Heights, Ohio; and
• David Grantier, a 1988 mechanical engineering major from Canton, Ohio.
