Japanese students learn there is nothing as American as apple pie.
Here, Mana Hashimoto of Mie, Japan, learns how to make apple pie with crumb topping. Has she ever made a pie in her home country? No, one sees pies only in hotels or specialty bakery shops there.
Mana is one of 28 Japanese students studying at Ohio Northern for five weeks this summer as part of a program to acclimate international students to American college life.

Meet Prince. Prince is a male Pomeranian mix. He is 7 years old. Prince is a special needs dog. He has a dislocated hip that was never fixed so he cannot put his back leg down. He also had to be shaved due to the condition of his coat.. He is playful and very sweet. He gets around like there is nothing wrong with him. Can you give Prince a forever home?

The Ohio Northern women's soccer team is set to depart for Europe on Friday, July 21, where it will compete in four countries during an 11-day preseason trip.
Northern will take on two teams in the first six days, before entering a 7-game tournament on the final day.
After arriving in Zurich, Switzerland, Northern will travel to Salzburg, Austria where the team will tour the city and visit the birthplace of Mozart.
Northern will cap the day off with its first contest as it takes on FC Bergheim at 3:30 pm.
The fourth day of the trip will feature a tour of Munich, Germany and a tour of Allianz Stadium, home of 1860 Munich and Bayern Munich Fussball Clubs.

Businesses come and go in small towns and large cities, as well. Here's a review of some Main Street changes in Ada this summer.
All that remains of presence of The Ada Herald in town is a weathered sign still hanging above 229 N. Main. The space has been for rent since the weekly newspaper moved its operations to another town.
The paper reported, "The decision to do so (close the local office) was born of economic necessity, came down to the choice of closing the office or eliminating The Ada Herald in its entirely."
Junell Knepper, age 66, died on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 5:35 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
She was born on March 24, 1951 in Lackey, KY to Hager Justice and Virgie (Bailey) Justice.
Her father, Hager and her mother, Virgie Warmbrod preceded her in death.
On November 21, 2012 she married Gary W. Knepper and he survives in Alger.
Junell retired from Ohio Northern University, Ada where she was a professor in the Sociology Departement. She was a graduate of Utica High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree and her Masters Degree in Sociology from the University of Toledo.

Two organizations in town heard reports Wednesday about the planned Ada Dog Park, and both groups gave their encouragement and approval of the project.
Ken Lauria spoke to the Ada Chamber of Commerce and Jimmy Wilson presented the dog park plans to members of the CIC. They and Cathy Cole and Chris Keiser have been heading up a committee to establish a dog park here by next summer.
The goal is to have a fenced in, off-leash area where dog owners can bring their furry friends to socialize, exercise, and play. One section will be for large dogs, another for small dogs.
