Seniors Hannah Reich (Howell, Mich.) and Anna Niemeyer (Loveland) and junior Sarah Puntel (Strongsville) all were named Academic All-Ohio by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association on Wednesday afternoon.
Reich and Niemeyer were each named First Team Academic All-Ohio, while Puntel was dubbed a Second Team Academic All-Ohio honoree.
Reich, an Athletic Training major, was named Academic All-Ohio for the first time in her career.
The senior earned the honor after being tabbed a First Team Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches this season.
It was all Christmas for the Ada Kiwanis and Rotary on Tuesday.

Many Christmas-related items were awarded to successful bidders in the club’s annual auction, according to Jon Umphress.
Kiwanis will take the holiday season off. The next meeting is at noon, Tuesday, Jan. 9, in the Dean's Heritage Room, McIntosh Center. Rhett Grant, Director of the Ada Public Library, will present the club program.

Ada police, fire-rescue, ambulance-EMT, and the sheriff were all on hand Wednesday afternoon for a send off to all Ada School students at dismissal for the Christmas-New Year's break.
Emergency personnel from the several agencies handed out candy canes near the north door while Santa (even the Grinch) and fire personnel were on hand for those who headed out the south door.
The send off was orchestrated by the counseling office.
The Hardin County Crime Task Force served a search warrant today at 501 W. Zimmerman St. in the Village of Forest. The warrant had been issued as part of an investigation into the illegal sale of prescription medication.
The search resulted in the seizure of $3,740 cash and a significant quantity of prescription pills.
Minor Curl, of that address, was arrested on drug trafficking charges and transported to the Multi County Correctional Center in Marion.

VAN BUREN - Host Van Buren ran out to a 12-0 lead and cruised to a 62-29 win over Ada in a non-conference girls basketball game Tuesday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-5 overall with the defeat, while the Lady Black Knights improved to 5-4 after the win.
Ada trailed 12-0 after one period and 29-11 at intermission. The Knights extended the margin to 37 points with a 25-6 third period. The purple and gold won the fourth quarter, 12-8.
Senior guard Teara Coulson led Ada with a season-high nine points. Senior Maddie Gossard added six points and six rebounds. Junior post Rilan Conley contributed six caroms.
The Hardin County OSU Extension office announces the dates and themes for Little Sparks: Goo Crew for January through May.
The program is open to the public and free of charge, unless noted for special activities. The group meets from 10-11 a.m. at the extension office, 1021 W. Lima St. in Kenton on the first and third Wednesdays of each month.
He was spotted today (Tuesday) in the 500 block of South Johnson where he has taken up residence since July.
