DELAWARE — ONU junior Maddy Reed (Piketon) tied her own All-Ohio meet record in the pole vault and won the event, while sophomore Taylor Lavey (New Baltimore, Mich./Findlay) broke her own school record in the 100-meter dash to lead the No. 10-ranked Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field team at the 2018 All-Ohio Championships at Gauthier Track.

The Polar Bears (34-7 overall) finished fourth of 19 teams in the meet.

DELAWARE — ONU senior Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich.) posted the lone first place finish to lead the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team as it competed at the All-Ohio Championships at Gauthier Track on Saturday.

The Polar Bears (24-14 overall) finished 10th of 19 teams.

Molinaro won the 1,500-meter run by nearly three seconds, finishing first in an impressive 3:55.44. The senior currently owns the ninth fastest time in the event nationally.

LIMA -- The Ohio Northern men's tennis team fell to John Carroll 8-1 in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon indoors at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.

The Polar Bears fall to 9-7 overall and 3-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Blue Streaks improve to 7-7, 5-0.

BEREA — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team moved into sole possession of first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference with an impressive 16-4 victory at Baldwin Wallace in a battle of league unbeatens on Saturday afternoon at Finnie Stadium.

The Polar Bears extend their winning streak to a school record nine games and are now 12-1 overall and are in first place in the OAC with a 5-0 record.

The Yellow Jackets fall to 9-3, 5-1.

Junior Max Weese (Columbus/Hilliard Darby) posted his school-record 15th career hat trick with three goals in the game to lead ONU.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — The Ohio Northern softball team swept John Carroll 1-0, 5-2 on Friday afternoon to extend its winning streak to seven games at Bracken Field in University Heights.

The Polar Bears improve to 24-4 overall and 10-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, 11-12, 6-6.

Sophomores Brady Guest (Convoy/Crestview) and Gabby Stewart (Union, Ky./St. Henry) each had four hits to lead ONU offensively. Guest added five RBI, including a 3-run home run and a run scored, while Stewart had an RBI and a run scored.

The Ohio Northern baseball team fell in game one 12-11 before rebounding with a 10-3 victory to split with John Carroll in a twinbill at Wander Field on a windy Friday afternoon in Ada

The Polar Bears move to 19-8 overall and 7-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Blue Streaks move to 15-10, 6-4.

The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team posted a winning season in 2017-18 under 14th-year head coach Peggy Ewald.

The Polar Bears were 5-4-1 overall and finished second in the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season with a 3-1 record.

Sophomore Lauren Halle (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) won two titles and set two school records to lead Ohio Northern at the OAC Championships meet.

ONU men’s swimming and diving team won the Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season title and posted its 11th consecutive winning season in 2017-18 under 14th-year head coach Peggy Ewald.

The Polar Bears finished 7-2 overall, won the OAC Regular Season title with a 4-0 record and finished second of five teams at the 2018 OAC Championships.

Senior Braden Kuhn (Tiffin/Columbian) and sophomore Nolan Huey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge) led the Ohio Northern men at the 2018 OAC Championships at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.

WAYNESFIELD — The Ada boys and girls track teams each won a triangular meet in dominating fashion at Waynesfield-Goshen Tuesday evening.

 

Ada scored 90 points to win the boys team title. Waynesfield was second with 64, and Delphos Jefferson was a distant third with 20.

 

The Lady Bulldogs won the girls meet with 83 points to easily out-distance host W-G (53) and Jefferson (34).

 

Multiple Bulldogs won two events. Senior sprinter Logan Williams captured the 100 meter dash and the long jump. Sophomore distance ace Reece Evans took first in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs.

ADA - The visiting Delphos Jefferson baseball team traveled to Ada and came away with a 10-0 Northwest Conference win Thursday evening.

 

The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the NWC. The Wildcats improved to 5-2 and 1-1 in the league after the win.

 

DJ plated two runs in the top of the first inning, and the game stayed 2-0 heading into the fourth frame.

 

The Wildcats then broke open a close game with three runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth to run-rule Ada.
